Teton BUILD Grant to host meeting on Teton Pass Trail
Teton County and WYDOT will discuss the design, construction schedule, take public comments
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Teton Mobility Corridor Improvements BUILD Grant Project will host a Zoom webinar regarding the Greater Yellowstone Trail: Teton Pass Trail. The event is scheduled for Tuesday, February 8, from 5-6pm.
The GYT: Teton Pass Trail is a 3.5-mile shared-use pathway from Trail Creek Campground to Coal Creek. It represents the next segment in the larger Teton Pass Trail project that will ultimately connect Victor to Wilson with a separated non-motorized pathway over Teton Pass.
As part of the US DOT Millennium Trail Program, the project was initiated in 2000 to provide a safe, shared-use pathway for non-motorized travel connecting Idaho to Wyoming.
It is also an essential connection in the regional Greater Yellowstone Trail project between West Yellowstone, Montana and Colter Bay in Grand Teton National Park. The future pathway will enhance non-motorized recreation on Teton Pass and improve safety for both motorized and non-motorized users. Providing a pathway and road crossings, so people on foot, bike, horseback, or skis are not exposed to the significant risk of fast-moving vehicles on the busy Teton Pass highway will make this stretch safer for all.
The Zoom webinar will be an opportunity for the public to learn more about the project and process.
