Hero Marine’s family escorted down Broadway
Support funds for Lance Cpl. Rylee McCollum have topped $700k
Rylee McCollum’s Child Education FundJACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — A hastily-assembled processional down Broadway honoring Bondurant native Lance Cpl. Rylee McCollum drew hundreds of spectators this afternoon, many waving U.S. flags.
Local law enforcement, along with members of the U.S. Marine Corp escorted members of the McCollum family through downtown Jackson. Word had gotten out in the early afternoon and quickly residents and visitors alike lined Broadway to the Town Square.
McCollum was killed in the ISIS-K suicide blast at the airport in Kabul. It was the 20-year-old Marine’s first deployment. McCollum was a former student of Jackson Hole High School, graduate of Summit Innovations School, and a high school wrestler.
No less than three distinct verified GoFundMe accounts have generated nearly $700,000.
In addition, Bank of Jackson Hole today announced it has created a donations account to directly support the family of Rylee McCollum for those who wish to avoid fees associated with GoFundMe. Donations up to $10,000 will be matched by the community bank. Contributions accepted at any branch—Jackson, Wilson, Teton Village, Dubois, Pinedale, and Alpine. Just deposit money into the account “FBO Rylee McCollum.”
