Cpl. Rylee McCollum comes home Friday
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — A public procession through the streets of Jackson for Rylee McCollum is set for Friday.
The body of the hero Marine is returning to Wyoming and organizers are planning a processional route through Jackson at approximately 4:30pm, Friday, September 10.
Rylee’s father, Jim, shared on Facebook that he initially did not wish to make a big deal of the return of his son. He wanted to keep it private and in the family.
“I now realize that his homecoming is much greater than me. The best way for me to honor him is to allow those who want to welcome him home the opportunity to do so,” McCollum posted.
The processional time will hit as Jackson experiences its busiest travel time so pack your patience. Better to just park it, grab a flag, and participate.
START Bus already announced it is expecting delays to some commuter routes and local lines.
The Jackson Hole Airport confirmed the Marine’s arrival Friday afternoon and passed along this note: “The McCollum family would like his arrival to the Jackson Hole Airport to be a private moment for them to share together. They respectfully request tributes and respects be made along the motorcade route which will begin in the Town of Jackson.”
