Going, going…(almost) gone: Historical walking tours of Jackson
Season winding down on this uniquely 'Jackson' offering
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Time is running out to enjoy a uniquely local and historic undertaking in Jackson.
What makes Jackson’s Town Square unique? Where is one of the oldest buildings on The Square hiding? What did early Jackson look like 100 years ago?
Just two weeks remain for a chance to join Jackson Hole Historical Society & Museum (JHHSM) for a Historic Downtown Walking tour with a local guide during our summer season. Tours run Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 10:30am through October 1. They won’t be available again until May 2022.
If you’re a Jackson resident, a tour can be a fun way to revisit historic places, prominent local characters, and surprising highlights from the story of downtown Jackson. For visitors, the tour will orient you in place and time to downtown Jackson.
Walking Tour reservations are not needed. The JHHSM encourages arriving a few minutes early at the Museum at 225 N Cache Street to pay for your ticket before departing.
The museum is also showing the special exhibit Painting the Town: Archie Boyd Teater in Jackson Hole, Selections from the Lester D. Taylor Collection during regular hours from 10am – 5pm on Tuesdays – Saturdays through October 30.
