Big Hole barbecued by early morning fire
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — A devastating fire claimed a local eatery in Victor, Idaho early Tuesday morning. No injuries were reported but Big Hole BBQ will be out of operation for months after the blaze.
Authorities on-scene say the kitchen area, where the fire is believed to have started, is a total loss. The cause of the fire is unknown. The damage will put Big Hole BBQ out of business for some time. Owner Nick Jacob vows to rebuild.
An estimated 15-20 employees will be displaced. The Community Resource Center of Teton Valley is working with those employees. A GoFundMe page has also been established by Tom Combs, who is working directly with Big Hole manager Heidi Trenske, to ensure all proceeds go to employees of the restaurant.
Quick response from Driggs and Victor fire engines is credited with limiting damage to just Big Hole BBQ. Neighboring businesses WorldCast Anglers and Victor Valley Market were not affected.
