JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — November 1 begins area road closures in Grand Teton Nation al Park. Yellowstone roads close next week.
This weekend, November 6-7, provides the last chance for visitors to drive to many iconic locations in Yellowstone National Park. The West, South and East entrances and all roads, with one exception, will close to vehicle travel at 12:01am Monday, November 8. The park annually closes roads in early November to prepare them for the winter season and snowmobile and snowcoach travel, which will begin Wednesday, December 15.
In Grand Teton National Park, the Teton Park Road will close today through April 30, from Taggart Lake Trailhead to Signal Mountain Lodge. The road will be open to biking until it is snow-covered. Once the snow flies and sticks, the road will be groomed for skiing, snowshoeing and hiking from mid-December to mid-March.
Moose-Wilson Road is also closed beginning today.
The one road that remains open in Yellowstone is the North Entrance at Gardiner, Montana. This road is open all year, weather-permitting, through Mammoth Hot Springs to the Northeast Entrance and communities of Cooke City and Silver Gate, Montana. Travel east of Cooke City is not possible from late fall to spring because a segment of US 212 (Beartooth Highway) between Cooke City and Pilot Creek is closed to vehicle travel.
If you plan to drive in the parks during the fall and winter:

- Have flexible travel plans.
- Expect limited services.
- This time of year, most services are open in Mammoth Hot Springs and closed elsewhere in the park.
