Give your input on Spring Gulch public property
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — If you have travelled Spring Gulch Road (no doubt trying to make a flight on time at the airport) you have perhaps noticed the parcel of land off to your right just after crossing Cattleman’s Bridge and right before you get into the Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis area.
The parcel lies on the northeast end of Cattleman’s Bridge over the Gros Ventre River. It’s a bit of a junk show to look at; used as staging now and then for construction projects and the like. But did you know this property is publicly owned? And could look a whole lot better?
Officially, it’s called Lot 45 of JH Golf & Tennis and the county has developed a preliminary concept to improve public access to the Gros Ventre River, rehabilitate vegetation, and link up users to an existing pathway.
Improvements include completing the pathway connection that currently terminates near Kings Highway to the bridge, formalizing a recycling area, planting vegetation, and improving the overall aesthetics of the parcel. Lower Valley Energy is also planning to bury the overhead powerlines in this area.
The project is expected to be completed by Spring 2022.
