JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Teton County School District officials moved to a virtual day today after significant snow pounded the valley all week.
“Given the weather forecast, road advisory, and the number of staff who live outside of the county; in an abundance of caution, the district is announcing that Friday, January 7 will be an asynchronous instruction day,” TCSD#1 stated in an online message late yesterday.
Students came home with their iPads (grades K-8) or laptops (grades 9-12) on Thursday, and teachers provided all necessary materials for Friday’s home-based school work.
“We understand transitioning to a virtual day is not ideal for working families so it seemed appropriate to make the decision today rather than tomorrow morning, therefore providing families a little more time to prepare for the unexpected change,” school officials said.
Any individual participating in the Test to Stay program will not be tested tomorrow morning and TCSD staff will be working remotely.
JHHS/SIS specific information
In lieu of an in-person Flex Friday, JHHS/SIS teachers will be available virtually via Zoom from 9am-12pm. Students can find virtual meeting links on their Canvas course homepages. If a link is not posted, the teacher may not be available. Students can reach out to individual teachers via email for additional support as needed.
