Search and Rescue aids injured snowmobiler in Granite
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — A snowmobile crash in in the Granite Creek area had Teton County Search and Rescue scrambling a team Wednesday afternoon.
TCSAR responded to the page out on January 12 to Granite Falls, about 19 miles south of Jackson, a popular tourist destination in winter for the hot springs at the end of a 9-mile dog sled or snowmachine ride.
A woman had accidentally driven her snowmobile off the edge of the trail and came down with a suspected neck injury.
Given the nature of the incident, the team dispatched volunteers in the helicopter, with other volunteers driving to the Granite Creek access towing snowmobiles and the RZR as backup. The helicopter team was able to land near the patient, package her, and load her inside the ship. They then flew back to Jackson where she was delivered to higher medical care.
The remaining team members returned to the hangar, debriefed, and prepped the equipment for the next mission.
No information was provided on the injured woman.
