JHHS Robotics team prepares robot for competition, organizes toy drive
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — The latest news from the Robotics Team at Jackson Hole High School is encouraging and uplifting.
First, the FRC Robotics Team is finetuning its robot for competition and she’s a beaut.
“The chassis is looking really solid and fast. The frame has been attached and the final shooter head has been installed with its Limelight cameras,” the team reported recently.
And it takes all hands on deck to get the robot ready for battle. In addition to the fabrication crew, who are busy assembling the hopper (internal ball control), the wiring team is focused on organization, and the awards team is putting the final touches on the Chairman’s Award submission.
“The goal is a fully finished robot by Saturday night,” said JH RoboBroncs coach Gary Duquette.
The RoboBroncs are off to Casper next weekend, February 18-19, for a Wyoming First Tech Challenge championship.
Meanwhile, the RoboBroncs continue their partnership with counterparts based in Riverton. The Wind River Toy Drive is wrapping up today. The effort will bring “fun bags” filled with Legos, games, art activities, and more to be distributed to students when they go home for spring break.
