JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Protect Our Water Jackson Hole (POWJH) announced that Dan Leemon has resigned from his position as executive director to devote more time to his family and other interests.
POWJH’s board chair Brad Nielson applauded Leemon for his single-minded and unwavering commitment to protecting and restoring local surface waters and groundwater.
“Thanks in large part to Dan’s efforts, POWJH has accomplished significant milestones in protecting our water by informing the public about the importance of reducing nutrient pollution in the Snake River ecosystem, securing updates to the 2012 Comprehensive Plan to include language requiring wastewater management, and successfully proposing a philanthropic supported Teton County Water Quality Master Plan,” Nielson said. “The entire POWJH board, extends our gratitude to Dan for his years-long effort and wish him well in his future endeavors.”
To replace Leeman, the board of directors elected Meghan Quinn executive director. Quinn first joined POWJH in June of last year. She is an accomplished entrepreneur and an avid conservationist. Having successfully started and sold a software business, Quinn moved to Jackson Hole and focused her efforts on conservation. She has also worked with The Wildlife Conservation Society and the National Parks Conservation Association.
Nielson noted that Quinn will lead POWJH’s efforts to help guide Teton County’s best practices for clean water and launch a community-wide grassroots campaign.
