Horses spook, buck off 2 riders in Willow Creek
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — A man and woman were bucked off their horses in the Willow Creek area south of Jackson today just after noon.
Teton County Search and Rescue volunteers were called to respond to a man and woman who were both injured in a horse accident south of Jackson in the Willow Creek area in the Hoback Canyon.
The couple had each been riding their own horse when both horses spooked and bucked them off at the same time. The man was able to walk back down the mountain to put out the emergency call, which set the rescue in motion.
TCSAR responded with a team in the RZR, with e-mountain bikes as backup. The RZR team navigated rough terrain and drove directly to the patients. The volunteers assessed their multiple injuries and transported them out of the backcountry to a waiting ambulance.
The entire mission took 4 hours and 42 minutes.
