County moves toward more open, holistic sharing of initiatives
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Anything and everything to do with the county will be laid out this Wednesday during a dual session open house.
Teton County is inviting the public to connect with county staff on current projects and initiatives from several departments during an open house this week. The County Connection Open House will take place Wednesday, March 23 from 11:30am to 1:00pm and 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the Teton County/Jackson Recreation Center gymnasium.
There will be 16 booths set up from several departments, ranging from current projects like the Recreation Center expansion construction management plan, Northern South Park neighborhood plan, and bear conflicts and wildlife feeding; to new initiatives like the water quality master planning, and more broad information on resources at the library, affordable housing, sexual and reproductive health, and programming at the Recreation Center.
“This is a great opportunity to learn more about what’s going on at the county,” said public information specialist Kristen Waters. “There will be representatives at each booth to answer questions and receive feedback on a variety of topics from nearly every department.”
The open house will have staff from the library, Affordable Housing, Public Works, Public Health, Parks and Recreation, Jackson Hole Fire/EMS, Emergency Management, and Planning and Building.
Teton County Human Resources will also have a booth to answer questions about current job openings and talk about the benefits of working at the County. Teton County currently has part-time, seasonal, and full-time positions open.
Waters says that the county is moving toward hosting open houses that give the public a more holistic look at the work that’s being done at the county.
“This format allows the public to learn about projects and initiatives from several departments, all at once,” she said. “Someone may attend the open house with the intention of providing feedback on one topic and leave having learned about five other projects.”
