JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Teton County Search and Rescue today assisted in the retrieval of a man presumed drown in the Snake River.
The incident occurred this afternoon in a feature of the river known as King’s Wave. A popular kayak access is a day use only highway turnout parking area with a trail leading down to the kayak surf wave called King’s Wave. It is located off of Highway 89 south of Hoback Junction just past the Boy Scout Camp.
UPDATE: The deceased is reported as Hector Bedolla-Zarate, 22. Bedolla-Zarate was a standout soccer player for the Jackson Broncs, voted all-conference and all-state in 2018.
This is the second drowning this season in Jackson Hole. A rafter was killed on The Gros Ventre on June 21.
