Fair concert presale tix gone

Concert, rodeo, Figure 8s will be hot tickets come July 1

JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — It looks like the kickoff concert will be a big one for the Teton County Fair this summer.

The Fair Board today announced pre-sale tickets to the 2022 Fair Kickoff Concert have sold out, and they are encouraging those interested in attending the concert to purchase tickets when the remainder become available on July 1.

“We are not surprised pre-sale tickets sold out so quickly because this year’s concert features two very talented and very popular country musicians,” said Fair and Fairgrounds manager Rachel Grimes.

This year’s concert features headliner and Wyoming native Ian Munsick, along with fringe country music artist Elvie Shane.

Munsick, who grew up on a Wyoming ranch playing music with his brothers and fiddle-playing father, is described as a progressive artist with an old soul, incorporating elements from many genres; while opening act Elvie Shane, recently performed at the 2022 County Music Television Music Awards, and was nominated for New Male Artist of the Year and Breakthrough Video of the Year.

Last year’s concert with Jamestown revival was a sellout with limited seating due to COVID. A total of 1,500 tickets were sold for that show. This year’s concert will have available 2,300 tickets before it is considered a sellout.

Based on advanced sales, the concert appears destined for a certain sellout. Fair officials urge those interested to get their tickets early for the concert, the rodeo, and Figure 8s.

The remaining concert tickets, along with all evening event tickets, go on sale July 1 and are available for purchase at the Teton County Fairgrounds Office, located at 305 W. Snow King Avenue and online. Frazier Carnival passes also go on sale July 1 and are available for purchase in-person at the Fairgrounds.

The Teton County Fair Book for the 66th annual is out and available at the office or online.

Pig Wrestling, a popular locals’ event was cancelled this year after the contractor retired. The Fair Board could find no other provider of squiggly squealers so they replaced the event with a horse pull.
