Injured mountain biker helped off Pass

Downhill biker crashed on Lithium Friday night

JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Teton County Search and Rescue successfully assisted an injured mountain biker from Teton Pass last Friday night.

Search and Rescue was called out at 8:19pm on Friday for a report of a male mountain biker with potential serious injuries on the Lithium trail, a steep downhill descent with multiple jumps and drops on Teton Pass.

A strike team set out heading up the trail on electric mountain bikes from the Old Pass Road trailhead. At about 9:15 p.m., they made contact with the patient and assessed his injuries. The man was eventually able to walk out on his own with TCSAR members accompanying him and his girlfriend to the trailhead.

Meanwhile, two TCSAR members continued up the trail to find the couple’s bikes, and hike-a-biked them out, using headlamps to see in the dark. All teams returned to the hangar by 10pm.
