JH Land Trust rolls up sleeves on Earth Day
Volunteer cleanup of Karns Meadow much appreciated
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — The Teton County/Jackson Parks & Recreation Department is heaping big thanks onto the Jackson Hole Land Trust for organizing a cleanup of Karn’s Meadow on Earth Day.
As part of Earth Day celebrations, the Land Trust coordinated a group of staff and volunteers to do a spring cleaning of the Karn’s Meadow parcel Friday April 22. The group braved some obnoxious weather and helped remove tons of garbage from the pristine meadows.
First Republic Bank lent a hand as well. Melvin Brewing was there to make sure no one got too thirsty.
Karns Meadow encompasses approximately 41 acres and contains important wetlands that are fed by Flat Creek, which bisects the meadow from the northeast corner to the southwest corner. The park is open to the public from dawn to dusk and is frequented by a host of wildlife such as moose, mule deer, bald eagles, and osprey.
Much appreciated, gang.
