Latest data shows JH economy robust as ever this winter
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — February’s numbers are in and Jackson Hole’s economy continues its blistering pace. All major indicators are up over last year’s numbers—sales tax revenue, lodging occupancy, park visitation, visitor center visitation, enplanements, deplanements, lodging tax collection, et al.
According to the Chamber of Commerce’s Economic Dashboard for February 2022, the data all points skyward. Last December’s lodging tax collection was $734,936 compared to December 2020’s $485,477. To date, the lodging tax has registers ringing to the tune of $6.4M (in FY22) compared to $4.4M last year at this time.
And those heads in beds are spending while they’re here. Visitors (and locals alike) dropped $3,975,040 into town and county coffers last December compared to $3,228,479 the December previous. In FY22, $28M has come to Jackson/Teton County to be split 55% county, 45% town). That compares with FY21’s $21.3M total to date.
