Meet the TCSAR 2021 recruit class
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — This doesn’t happen every day. Or every year.
Teton County Search and Rescue just announced a new class of recruits for 2021.
Since TCSAR’s founding in 1993, the team has brought on just nine new classes of volunteers, with the last one being in 2015. So, it’s a rare occasion. This year, the foundation and team is excited to introduce 10 new members.
The process started back in March with a pool of 150 applicants. Through a series of interviews conducted by TCSAR volunteers, that list was slimmed down to 10 individuals. They come to the organization from a wide range of backgrounds and with a multitude of skills.
Beginning immediately, until the end of this year, the new recruits will go through extensive training to gain several certifications. They will head out on all missions but will have to wait until after they’ve successfully completed all their training to become “operational.” This process takes almost a year.
Learn more about the new members to the team: Ian Johnston, Andrew Armington, Ashley Didion, Tobin Dennis, Dan Rodgers, Lexie Drechsel, Anna DiSanto, Lauren Funaro, Brook Yeomans, and Steve Wurm.
