Mountain bikers busted up on Fuzzy Bunny
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — A steep downhill section of bike trail on Teton Pass claimed a few victims over the weekend. Injuries serious enough to warrant a callout to Teton County Search and Rescue.
Last weekend, volunteer rescuers responded to two separate incidents on Fuzzy Bunny, an aggressive downhill mountain bike trail on Teton Pass.
Saturday at 2pm, the team was alerted to a mountain biker who crashed on the trail and sustained potentially serious injuries. The patient was eventually able to walk to the trailhead, and the SAR team made an initial assessment before passing off the biker to advanced medical care.
Then, on Sunday afternoon, the team responded to another mountain biker who was injured on the same trail. Volunteers dispatched with the RZR side-by-side and others headed out on foot for backup. The patient was assessed and packaged on scene, and eventually transported to more advanced medical care.
