Park scales back search for Cian
Missing since June 8, McLaughlin not likely alive
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — After days of intensive search efforts looking for 27-year-old Cian McLaughlin in Grand Teton National Park, authorities say they will scale back operations to a limited mode.
New clues will be investigated as they come in. Park rangers will continue patrol of the backcountry, but no largescale search efforts will continue.
For the past six days, some 40-70 were involved in search operations each day. Nearly four-dozen or more recon flights were flown. Civil Air Patrol also conducted aerial operations using Forward Looking Infrared Technology, which uses thermal imaging cameras to detect heat sources. More than 140 tips were followed up on.
