Skier dies after hitting tree
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — A skier at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort was pronounced dead today after running into a tree.
JHMR officials say a male skier from out-of-state collided with a tree this morning on a run called Gros Ventre. Resuscitation efforts were administered immediately on the mountain by JHMR ski patrol and continued at the St. John’s Clinic at Teton Village. They were unsuccessful.
“My deepest condolences go out to the family of the deceased. My heart goes out to everyone involved,” said resort president Mary Kate Buckley.
The name of the deceased is being withheld until notification of family can be completed.
