Stripping for a Cure donates $120k to St. John’s Health Foundation
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — St. John’s Health Foundation was presented with a check for $120,000 by Stripping for a Cure to support women’s health care and the Cancer Survivorship Program.
“We are filled with so much gratitude for our generous community and their unwavering support,” the charitable organization stated Tuesday. “Cancer touches everyone in one way or another and we are excited to be able to, once again, contribute to a cause that affects so many.”
The effort hit close to home for Stripping for a Cure last month when longtime and original member Ginger Deas lost her battle with breast cancer. Deas was diagnosed in her late-20s but lived as a survivor in every aspect. She enjoyed sharing her love of fishing with other women.
Stripping for A Cure is an annual 2-day fly fishing event held on the Snake River. The event includes a party and auction component to raise funds for the St. John’s Health Foundation’s Women’s Health Care Fund.
