Temporary foster care urgently needed in Driggs shelter

Teton Valley Community Animal Shelter is at max capacity

JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — The Teton Valley Community Animal Shelter in Driggs, Idaho is beyond full and in need of your help.

With shelter occupancy so high, staff would love if some of their charges could be fostered in the homes of private individuals. The shelter could use the space and more than a few pets could use the break from shelter life.

Fostering a dog or cat allows the pet to get more hands-on love and attention, decompress from shelter life, and assist the animal with adjusting to home life quicker when they are adopted. The shelter will send every temporary foster pet home with all needed supplies, and continue to advertise your foster pet for adoption.

If you have ever wanted to help a shelter pet in your community, ‘meow’ is the time.

Call TVCAS at (208) 354-3499 to speak with a staff member about who could be the right foster fit for you. An application may be needed, and the animals will be the top priority in finding appropriate foster placements.

Can’t foster? The shelter is always in need of donations. Please call ahead and speak with a staff member to find out what their current needs are.
