Ten truckin’ years
Jackson Hole Children’s Museum presents 10th annual Touch-A-Truck event
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Although it may still look and feel like winter, we know that spring is right around the corner. And what does that mean? Trucks!
The Jackson Hole Children’s Museum (JHCM) today announced the 10th annual Touch-A-Truck event will take place on Sunday, June 5, from 10am-2pm on N. Jean St. and the Davey Jackson Elementary field, adjacent to the JHCM campus.
Touch-A-Truck is a beloved Jackson Hole tradition. The free family event draws over 1,200 locals and visitors for the opportunity to touch the levers, switches and gears that make construction, emergency, law enforcement, food service, and recreation vehicles move. Touch-A-Truck also shows support for the vehicle operators who build, serve and protect our community every day and is an important fundraiser for the Jackson Hole Children’s Museum.
While event entry is free, families are encouraged to register in advance as front entrance admission will be limited. Registration slots will be available every 15 minutes starting at 10am until 1:30pm. Online registration will open on May 1. Donations of $10/person or $40/family are encouraged.
Event-goers can expect a variety of vehicles, including helicopters and a hot air balloon, food trucks, face painting, and engaging kids’ activities. As always, please carpool or take alternative transportation to the event if you are able, and be respectful of the neighborhood to the north when parking.
“The 10th annual Touch-a-Truck event is a time for the kids (of all ages) to gather together in celebration of play and exploration,” says JHCM executive director Ethan Lobdell. “Our organization is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to serve this community by creating a space where families can discover wonder through the eyes of a child. This year is particularly important to help raise awareness about the museum’s upcoming move from the Jackson Elementary campus.”
