JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — As the Jackson Hole Travel and Tourism Board (TTB) enters a delicate inflection point, pivoting away from traditional marketing and moving toward a more sustainable “stewardship” tourism campaign, the board is looking for some new blood.
Comprised of seven volunteer members appointed by town and county electeds, the TTB is tasked with managing lodging tax funds. In October of 2021, the board embarked on a Sustainable Destination Management Plan (SDMP) with a consulting group from George Washington University International Institute of Tourism Studies and Confluence Sustainability. This community-driven action plan is currently in the visioning stage and is due to be delivered in the fall of 2022.
At this time, TTB is accepting applications to fill two open seats.
Participation on the TTB has never been more crucial as the board continues its work with the community to develop and activate a shared vision of the future of tourism in Teton County. Board members are tasked with considering the social, economic, and environmental impacts tourism has on our destination as they allocate resources.
Board meetings are 1-2 hours per month with occasional special meetings as needed for urgent items. Each board member serves on a committee (Sustainability, Marketing, or Events) which have additional time commitments. Total time commitment varies seasonally and by committee.
The deadline to apply is May 1 at 5pm; a joint committee of Town of Jackson and Teton County elected officials will interview applicants and the three-year term will start July 1.
