Voices JH boosted by grant from Wyoming Community Foundation
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Voices Jackson Hole was born at the start of the pandemic from the urgent need to create trust and communication between immigrant community members and social service organizations. Two years later, Voices JH’s mission is to engage and empower the immigrant and limited-English speaking communities in the Tetons.
A competitive grant from the Wyoming Community Foundation towards the nonprofit’s general operating expenses has made possible the ability for Voices JH to continue to build towards sustainability as a grassroots effort to increase community engagement in the Teton region.
“Our immigrant team is Voices JH’s most important asset as we are a people powered organization, and the growth and development of our team members is foundational to our mission,” says Jordan Rich, director of development and operations for Voices JH. “This grant from the Wyoming Community Foundation will be instrumental in ensuring we are paying our team a competitive wage to do the invaluable outreach work they do every day to immigrant households.”
Voices JH team members are from four different countries and speak 10 unique languages. Their outreach work to immigrant households is motivated by the desire to share information and resources with local families, and to ensure the voices of the immigrant communities are heard and incorporated in local processes.
Voices JH is a fiscally sponsored program of Legacy Philanthropy Works.
