Wyoming not exactly stressed out, new findings reveal

JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Wyoming finds itself right smack in the middle of rankings for the most/least stressed states in the U.S. The Equality State scored low in the metrics regarding money-related stress (46th) but rather higher in work-related stress (11th).

WalletHub’s assessment found Wyoming tied for 1st with Alaska and Texas for states with the highest average hours worked per week. Aside from the work environment, there isn’t much that keeps Wyomingites up at night however.

Other key findings revealed:

  • New Hampshire has the lowest share of the population living in poverty, 7.60 percent, which is 2.7 times lower than in Mississippi, the highest at 20.30 percent.
  • Utah has the lowest separation & divorce rate, 15.74 percent, which is 1.7 times lower than in Nevada, the highest at 26.07 percent.
  • Minnesota has the lowest share of adults in fair or poor health, 10.00 percent, which is two times lower than in West Virginia, the highest at 19.90 percent.
  • Massachusetts has the most psychologists per 100,000 residents, 73, which is 7.3 times more than in Louisiana, the fewest at 10.
