Fall chip sealing projects will close some streets in town
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — The town will get busy with chip sealing projects beginning next week. The work could cause travelers to have to reroute their in-town trips.
The Town of Jackson and Evans Construction will begin the 2021 fall chip seal project on Monday, August 16. The project is anticipated to take approximately three days, weather permitting.
Chip sealing includes the application of an asphalt coating followed by a layer of aggregate and prolongs the life of the road and reduces maintenance costs. Chip sealing will cover the full road width and requires temporary road closures during the application process.
Roads listed below will have temporary closures. No parking will be permitted on roadways during this time. Expect up to 20-minute delays.
High School Road will be closed to eastbound traffic between Middle School Road and South Highway 89. Detour to South Park Loop Road or Middle School Road.
