Jackson boys runner-up in Snake River Shootout

Riverton's Parker Paxton is golfing on a whole 'nother planet right now

JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Nobody was going to touch Parker Paxton over the weekend. The Riverton golfer led his team to a 10-stroke victory at the 2-day Snake River Shootout. Jackson golfers came in second.

Paxton was just ridiculously on. The sophomore burst onto the scene last summer as a freshman, and he hasn’t lost a step. Paxton carded a 69 and 68 for a 137 2-day total. His team finished with a 659 total.

Jackson Hole got impressive rounds out of Mason Evans (78-78-156) and Adam Russel (82-84-166). Max French also finished in the top 5.

Star Valley secured 3rd. Green River, Pinedale, Lander Valley and Evanston also competed the tournament.

For the girls, it was Green River topping the leader board. Star Valley finished 42 strokes back in 2nd. Lander Valley Jackson and Evanston rounded out the field.

Jackson was led by Gracen Rosenberg’s 119-105-224. Genevieve Jenkins (123-126-249), Maggie Hoffman (128-127-255), and Scarlet Amdor (127-133-260) also showed well.
