Jackson golfers show well in Pinehurst

JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Mason Evans led the way for the Jackson golfers that took part in the High School Golf National Invitational at Pinehurst Resort. The Wyoming team representing the Jackson Hole Community School overall finished 33rd out of 53 teams with a cumulative 983 (+119).

Evans fired a 79-71-79 in the three rounds Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. In all he stroked 9 birdies, 28 pars, 12 bogeys, and 5 double-bogeys.

Hayes Milham (84-78-76), Adam Russell (85-89-80), Max French (92-83-87), and Ridge Kling (92-99-96) rounded out the team in the 54-hole event on Pinehurst No. 5, No. 6, and No. 7 courses.

Two-time state golf champion Parker Paxton, from Riverton, finished in an impressive 4-way tie for 7th with a 2-under 71-73-70-214.
