Sen. John Barrasso visits Wyoming troops in Persian Gulf
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — U.S. Senator John Barrasso (R-Wyo) spent Thanksgiving in the Persian Gulf with Wyoming servicemen and servicewomen far from home.
Barrasso has made it a regular habit to visit Wyoming troops deployed overseas for the holidays. The senior senator from Wyoming and third-ranking member in the Senate Republican leadership, spent Thanksgiving with sailors and Marines serving ten time zones away in Bahrain.
“They’re eyeball to eyeball with Iran in the Persian Gulf and are doing an incredible job protecting America and our allies,” Barrasso said. “In Wyoming, we’re so grateful for the brave service of our men and women in uniform. Bringing a little bit of Wyoming to our troops serving overseas on Thanksgiving is a tradition I look forward to every year. I made sure to let them know that everyone at home is thinking of them and looking forward to their safe return.”
Barrasso’s visit came on the heels of harsh words toward the Biden Administration.
“This will be the most expensive Thanksgiving dinner in the history of our country. From driving to grandma’s house to the turkey on the table, Americans are paying more,” Barrasso said. “Who would believe in 10 months, Joe Biden could take us to a 30-year-high inflation?”
