JH Rodeo results for early June
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Early June rodeo results are in at the Jackson Hole Rodeo and already a few cowboys and cowgirls are making names for themselves.
In bull riding, the Wilson family continues to dominate the event but a few newcomers could find themselves on the yearend podium the way they’re riding now.
Tipton Wilson had to share top prize money with Kacy Jones last weekend when the two tied for 1st with 84 rides. Brody Bates (82), Jaspur Brower (79), and Brody Hasenack (79) were also in the money Saturday, June 5. Levi Wilson (84), Connor Scholes (82), and Seth Wilson (77) rounded out the top 3 last Wednesday.
Myles Carson topped Vader for a 78 ride in bareback last Saturday. A 78 score wasn’t good enough for 1st on Wednesday, however, as Tristan Hansen rode Gloria to the buzzer for an 82 score. Blaine Mathews 82 ride on Richard Simmons in saddle bronc Wednesday was the best that night.
Wes Miller and Nick Nichols are swinging hot ropes in the early going on the back end. Headers are a spread a little more evenly but Wes Pulham looks like the man you want turnin’ ‘em for you.
It’s wide open for the girls around the cloverleaf pattern. Many of barrel racing horses are not yet up to midseason speeds but familiar faces were aboard winners on Wednesday. Jamie Putnam brought Ebay home for the top spot with a 17.321. Hailey Hardeman was right behind with her 17.797 on Linda.
Kassidee Bates’ Wicked JJ has been turning and burning with back-to-back top finishes. Last Saturday it was a 17.57 in 1D barrels. The duo tripped the wire with a 17.938 for a 2D win on Wednesday.
Hays Espenschied’s 2.87 led all contestants in breakaway roping last Saturday. Tarah Reed (2.94), Kasey Carr (3.26), and Harley Beasley (3.42) were also in the money.
Wednesday’s ropers had to be even quicker to see a pay day. Hailey Hardeman led them all with a lickity quick 2.61 for top honors. Caylee Bradshaw’s 2.91 was good enough for a payout as well.
