Demand trickling, prices expected to come down a little
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Motorists in Wyoming may soon be getting some relief at the pump.
Even as Governor Mark Gordon has launched a committee to look at what can be done about rising fuel prices, the market moves quicker than government.
According to Gas Buddy, prices are expected to fall by 5-7 cents a gallon in time for Independence Day travel. Most of the cause attributed to a drop in demand.
Rising gas prices and high inflation rates are changing driving habits across America. Quote Wizard’s team of analysts found that Wyoming drivers are using 11% fewer gallons of gas than they did in 2021. The 6th largest decrease nationwide.
The Cowboy State is typically the 2nd most gas guzzling state in the nation but recently, drivers are using 105,000 fewer gallons of gas each day than in 2021. The average driver now uses 363 gallons of gas every six months.
