JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Air traffic at Jackson Hole Airport was up in July. Way up.
Deplanements in July were some 82,765 compared with July 2020 (34,651) and July 2019 (64,602). That is a 139% increase from a year ago and the most for any month in the airport’s history. A total of 974 commercial planes landed at JH Airport in July 2021. More than twice as many as last July.
A total of 85,037 people boarded an outbound plane at the airport. A 171% increase over how many flew away last July.
As robust as the figures were, Allegiant announced last week that it was discontinuing flights in and out of Jackson. Summer never really took off for the discount airline. Flights in June and July were booked at less than 1/3 of capacity.
