All safe in Thanksgiving Day fire
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Sublette County Unified Fire Department (SCUF) responded to an early morning fire at 205 S. Noble Street in Big Piney on Thanksgiving Day.
On arrival at 4:54am, fire units observed smoke coming from the roof areas of a single-family residence. Firefighters initiated an interior attack of the fire to prevent further spread of fire and damage to the home. Even though the fire was already in a bedroom and attic space the swift response prevented the fire from spreading to other parts of the home.
Once the fire was knocked down, a primary search was conducted to ensure all occupants were out, the extent of the fire and then operations were transitioned to salvage and overhaul to mitigate any further property damage.
All residents were able to safely exit the home after being awakened by the family dog. The homeowner called 911 to report the fire soon thereafter. The fire “origin and cause” is still to be determined as the investigation is ongoing.
“SCUF would also like to truly thank whomever it was that brought over coffee, hot water and breakfast burritos for the firefighters at the station while they were rehabbing the response equipment. Much appreciated!” said fire chief Shad Cooper.
