Area ice rinks closed for now with warmer weather
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — The outdoor skating season has come to an abrupt halt with the advent of warm weather this week.
Last week, Jackson was gripped by a deep freeze and area rinks were crisp and fast. This week, they are melting out quickly. Deteriorating ice conditions have prompted Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation to close all rinks until further notice.
The closure impacts the ice rinks at the Teton County Fairgrounds, Powderhorn Park, and Owen Bircher Park in Wilson. Parks staff will continue to evaluate the rinks conditions daily until a decision is made to close them for the season.
