Benefit hockey game for Spencer Morton this weekend
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — The Jackson Hole Moose are organizing a benefit for a fallen hero, Spencer Morton and his family.
Hockey organizers will host a game this Saturday August 21, honoring former Moose Spencer Morton. All proceeds from the weekend will be donated to the Spencer Morton Children’s Educational Trust to raise money for his family: Melissa, Fritz, and baby Morton.
Morton died in early May of a rare cardiac condition. He was 38.
To kick off the weekend, on Friday, August 20, everyone is invited to a meet-and-greet/auction with Dawg Nation/NHL alumni. The free event will be held at Sidewinders from 5:30pm – 8:00pm. Auction items include signed NHL memorabilia, fishing trips, shooting experiences, signed game worn jerseys, and more.
Then on Saturday, August 21, the Moose will host a live game against the Dawg Nation/NHL Alumni team. Doors open with live music by Side Cake beginning at 6:30pm, warmups at 7:00pm, and puck drops at 7:30pm.
Beverages provided by Western Wyoming Beverage/Pepsi, and Osprey Beverages, and a food truck will be on premise from your favorite local pizza place, Pinky G’s.
Tickets to the game are sold online. Can’t make the game? Still want to donate? Do that safely online as well.
