Cleveland rocked: Moose take two to improve to 18-4
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Without a few veteran names (Drew Akins, Jason Reese) in the lineup, the Jackson Hole Moose relied on some of their rookies to lead the way against a feisty Cleveland hockey team last weekend at the Snow King Sports and Event Center.
Jackson 6, Cleveland 4
Jackson broke up open a close one with 3 2nd period goals to take a 6-4 win in Friday’s game.
The Moose spread the wealth on the scoring sheet. Mike Longo, Kristian Ophus, Vince Macri, Ryan Glantz, Joe Zelenka, and Alex Dewitz all tallied for Jackson. AJ Sanders added a pair of helpers.
Goaltender Nick Krauss stopped 22 of the 26 shots he faced.
Jackson 8, Cleveland 3
Once again, the Moose used a 3-goal outburst in the 2nd period to take command enroute to an 8-3 victory over the Barons.
Joe Zelenka led all scorers with a 4-point night (2G, 2A), followed by Ryan Glantz (1G, 2A), AJ Sanders (1G, 2A), and Vince Macri (1G, 1A). Nick Krauss looked sharp again in net on a quiet night. Cleveland managed just 26 shots for the second straight night.

The Moose are now 18-4 on the season. Jackson travels to Reno to take on the Ice Raiders. The Moose swept Reno on the opening weekend of the season back on October 22-23. The Jackson skaters return home to host the Vermont Flex for the final weekend series of the season on March 4-5.
