Community Safety Network announces leadership transition

JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — The Community Safety Network (CSN) board of directors today announced the appointment of Starr Sonne, MEd, as interim executive director.

“Starr is a seasoned and passionate leader who is deeply committed to CSN’s mission to support lasting change in the lives of those affected by domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking,” said board chair Brendan McDermott.

Sonne, a licensed professional counselor for 20 years and a 12-year veteran of CSN, stepped in “smoothly and enthusiastically into this important role,” McDermott added.

Sonne took over following the resignation of Andy Cavallaro last month.

“I’m happy to be able to focus on continuity of care to the families we serve and provide necessary administration and systems support during this transition,” commented Sonne, who will serve on a full-time basis until a permanent executive director is selected.

Board vice chair Shari Brownfield, who is also chair of the executive director search committee, said, “With a mission-driven staff, tremendous support from our trained advocates and community partners, and a fully engaged board of directors, CSN is wonderfully poised to enter the next chapter of our service to the community.”

CSN has retained Somerville Consulting Firm to guide the organization through the selection and hiring of its next executive director.

Once finalized, the executive director position description will be posted online.
