COVID appears to have run its course in Teton, Wyoming

JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — The end to a 2-year pandemic may be in sight as Teton County joined the rest of the state in lowering its COVID risk level assessment.

The COVID-19 risk level dropped to GREEN (low) yesterday after 44 new cases were reported in the past 7 days March 3-9), down (8.3%) from 48 the previous week and from highs witnessed in the 200’s range.

The average of 6.3 cases per day in Teton County qualifies for lowering the risk designation to low. The case rate during this period was 187.5 per 100,000 population.

For the past two weeks, 3.5% of COVID-19 tests taken in Teton County received a positive result according to the Wyoming Department of Health.

As of March 7, 88.4% of Teton County residents have completed their primary vaccination series according to the Wyoming Department of Health. An estimated 40.9% have received a third dose/booster.

As of March 10, St John`s Health had a 7-day average of 0.43 patients with COVID in the PCU and 0 patients with COVID in the ICU. An estimated 45.2% of patients with COVID-19 admitted to St. John’s Health in the past 30 days have been Teton County residents.

St. John’s Health is currently reporting 0 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 patient in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 0 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 patients in the Primary Care Unit (PCU), 0% ICU beds occupied for any reason, and 27% total hospital beds occupied at last check of its daily online updates.

As of March 9, there have been 16 deaths due to COVID-19 reported among Teton County residents.

Restrictions, including mask mandates have been lifted countywide at public facilities. Some private businesses continue to require face coverings but they are the exception.

  1. The cost of the non effective count down will be felt for decades. Was it worth it? What did it do to production, education, economy, liberty? The left wing policies may have puttee last nail in the coffin. Feel better?
