JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Jackson Hole Mountain Resort this week announced it will spin all lifts at full capacity and masks will not be required outdoors.
In an open letter from VP Operations Tim Mason, the resort acknowledged county health regulations are in “constantly evolving,” but did say, for now, plans are to mask up anywhere indoors and not mandate face coverings when outside.
“This season, we plan to load the aerial tram, gondolas and chair lifts to full capacity. With the tram operating at full capacity, we will not be offering the boot pack to the top of Rendezvous Bowl, but our lift system still enables open-air chair access to the top of Sublette lift,” Mason shared.
JHMR will require face coverings in all indoor spaces, including restaurants, retail and rental shops, restrooms and the guest service center. With its capacity of 100 people, the tram is considered an “indoor” space so masks will be required when riding it. Outdoor spaces, including the base area, lift lines and the other lifts, will not require masks.
The resort is offering full refunds on season pass products for any reason through November 15. JHMR plans for a Thanksgiving Day opening to the 2021-22 season.
The mountain is also making strides to address crowding at the resort.
“To elevate our guest experience, we will limit daily capacity and encourage visitors to purchase their day tickets in advance online,” Mason stated. “We will also require reservations for both Ikon and Mountain Collective passholders. However, JHMR passholders will not be required to make a reservation and can ski or ride on the days as indicated on the pass type purchased.”
