Fairgrund ice rink open for broomball tonight
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — The fairgrounds ice rink will open tonight (Tuesday) for the first broomball games of the season.
Teton County/Jackson Parks and Recreation tweeted today that ice has finally set up enough to get broomball going. Parks & Rec is asking skaters to stay off for another day or two.
“The ice is not ready for skates just yet. Hopefully tomorrow morning we can get a few more coats down and be ready for skating,” Parks & Rec stated.
The department hopes to get a Zamboni on the rink sometime tomorrow to prepare it for skating.
Owen Bircher in Wilson is still another week or so out for skating. The popular west bank rink needs to be packed and slushed before ice can be made.
Powderhorn Park Rink is also under construction and should be ready for the weekend.
