JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Police suspect arson in a fire at an abortion clinic set to open this summer in Casper. The blaze was discovered early this morning.
According to Cowboy State Daily, the damage caused by the fire was extensive but should not prevent it from opening this summer.
Wyoming is one of 13 states that would ban abortion if Roe v Wade is overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court. A leaked draft of a ruling suggests that could happen this year.
The planned clinic in Casper would only be the state’s second such to perform abortions. Currently, the only place to receive an abortion in the state of Wyoming is in Jackson Hole.
Eyewitnesses reportedly saw a person running from the clinic with a gas can and black bag just before the fire started.
