‘Good morning America’ wakes up Wyoming

JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — ABC’s Good Morning America featured the Cowboy State Tuesday morning as part of its ongoing series highlighting each state in the U.S.

The 5-minute pre-produced piece on Wyoming called “Rise and Shine, Wyoming,” was presented by ABC reporter Becky Worley who, decked out in everything a you might expect a recent California transplant to be adorned in, appeared to be enjoying herself in the big wide open.

In fact, Worley made mention of Wyoming’s vast size—in square miles opposed to population—as inspiration behind a tagline the Wyoming Office of Tourism used (“Wyoming is Wide open”) during peak pandemic months in 2020.

The segment contained plenty from Jackson Hole (is there anywhere else in Wyoming people go?) complete with ample amounts of obligatory ski porn supplied, no doubt by JHMR and/or Diane Shober at the Wyoming Office of Tourism.

Worley also made it up the road to Moosehead Ranch and across the state to Buffalo for a mention of sheep.

The piece ended on an interesting note. With tourism already slamming the national parks, Worley admitted she purposely left out Yellowstone and Grand Teton because promotion is the last thing they need right now.
