Here we go again…mask mandate is back

County health officer wants your 2 cents in 2 days

JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Teton District Health Officer Travis Riddell, MD, MPH, today announced today he is pursuing another mask order mandating face coverings in most public settings.

Riddell cannot institute a health order without giving a 48-hour notice to the community. So, here it is. The clock begins now.

Public comment will be accepted through written or electronic submissions to the Teton District Health Officer now through noon, Thursday, August 26. Written comments may be hand-delivered to the Teton County Clerk’s Office. Electronic submissions may be emailed.

Riddell is proposing a face covering health order (#21-5) that would pertain to all of Teton County, including the town of Jackson. The final determination will be made by State Health Officer Dr. Alexia Harrist after review of all public comment. If Public Health Order 25-1 is issued, it will expire 10 days later, on September 4 unless extended by the Jackson town council (within the city limits of Jackson) or by the Teton County Board of County Commissioners (countywide).
