Hole Food Rescue appoints new executive director
JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — Hole Food Rescue (HFR) today announced the promotion of Hannah Cooley to executive director. Previously, Cooley served as the organization’s program director.
“I am thrilled to become executive director of HFR,” Cooley said. “I look forward to this opportunity to grow individually and in my career. We have an amazing team and I am confident that together we will continue to expand our programs and fulfill our mission.”
Cooley has been with Hole Feed Rescue for six years. As program director, she helped develop HFR’s newest initiatives including, the Sprout Summer Lunch Program and Weekend Food Bags, which aim to eradicate childhood hunger.
Cooley began volunteering in 2015, and soon found herself as the organization’s first part-time employee. Since then she has fulfilled many roles including, facility manager, director of operations, and program director.
Board chair Beth Burrough stated, “Hannah is extraordinarily dedicated and driven. She has succeeded in every position she has held within HFR. Last year, Hannah enabled the organization to thrive while adapting programs to best fit the needs of our community.”
Board member Lisa Lent has been serving as interim ED since last November.
“We are confident in Hannah’s ability to implement HFR’s vision,” Lent said. “It is incredible to see an employee develop and take on greater responsibility. We hope that we can continue to provide a career path for all employees within the organization.”
Cooley will officially take over on January 1, 2022. The search for a new program director is already underway.
HFR was founded with the mission to reduce food waste and food insecurity in Jackson. Since then HFR has diverted over 1.5 million pounds of food from going to the landfill and redistributed it to the community. As the need has increased in Jackson, so has the demand for HFR’s programs.
