JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — The latest lodging statistics are available from the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce. While December numbers were off from 2020 ever so slightly, the past 6 months and the future 6-month booking outlook all show an increase in traffic.
December 2021 was a busy one. Lodging occupancy hovered around 51% last month—about the same as it was in December 2020. For the past six months, however, lodging occupancy in Jackson Hole has been about 65%, a full 5% above last year’s levels.
The latest lodging tax collections are in from October 2021. Some $515,827 rolled in compared to $495,418 in October ’20. To date, in FY’21-22, the county has collected $3,837,811.
The county issued 13 construction permits (commercial and residential) last December, up from 10 in December 2020.
To the delight of town and county bean counters, revenue, in the form of sales tax, just keeps pouring in.
