JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — The Horse Warriors art auction is underway. The online fundraiser has set a goal of raising $10,000 for the local nonprofit using art as the medium.
The Horse Warriors program has been a part of the Jackson Hole community for more than 20 years, and has included Star Valley for the last 10 years. The unique empowerment program connects people with horses and art. Horse Warrior utilizes equine facilitated learning, a proven teaching approach promoting the development of essential life skills: relationship building, social interaction, empowerment, leadership, confidence and kindness.
Program participants learn compassion and stewardship by caring for aging and compromised horses, and learn how to discern emotional responses through close observation.
“Horse Warriors has taught me how to understand every horse’s unique language—learning how to treat each and every horse with the care and respect they deserve has helped me learn how to treat humans the same,” said one recent participant.
