Housing project breaks ground at Mercill

JACKSON HOLE, Wyo. — A groundbreaking ceremony will be held this week for a 30-unit workforce housing project in the Town of Jackson.

The project at 105 Mercill Avenue will be a quasi-residential/institutional property with 20 1-bedroom units, 10 2-bedroom units and ground floor commercial use by the Children’s Learning Center as an early childhood education facility.

Teton County owns the 1-acre lot at the corner of Mercill and N Glenwood. The land will be split between the county Housing Department and the Children’s Learning Center.

Historic buildings onsite were moved to a private residence in Idaho.

The project is eyeing completion at the end of 2022.

Those attending include Commission chair Macker, Mayor Morton Levinson, as well as representatives from Jackson/Teton Affordable Housing, Design Associates Architects, Wyoming Property Management, and GE Johnson Construction.
